Amazon Brings Alexa AI to Fire TV Stick, Let's You Create Custom Wallpapers
Alexa with a dose of AI was announced at an event last year and now Amazon is bringing some of the features to its users.

Amazon showcased its own AI capabilities with Alexa at an event last year and now some of those AI features are rolling out to Fire TV devices in select markets. The company is bringing the AI version to its latest Fire TV Stick and TVs that will help you create custom wallpapers. That’s right, Amazon’s first big AI effort is to help you create backgrounds that can sit behind the interface on these Fire TV devices.

Amazon has used Alexa and the Titan image generator model to pull this off. The company is limiting its AI support to the latest Fire TV and TV Stick 4K Max models, as both of them have the ambient mode to make the best use of the feature.

Amazon did show a wide array of AI features during the event, especially the one where Alexa is able to respond more human-like without any wake words or prompts. Amazon is limiting its availability to the US market for now, but we’re hopeful that the AI-version of Alexa and other features come to other countries later this year.

We have often wondered the reason for a Fire TV Stick 4K Max when the 4K version was doing well but this week’s reveal suggests the Max had extra power under the hood to support these AI capabilities and more.

The ambient mode on these devices can be activated using Alexa or you can get it through the Shortcuts menu by tapping the Alexa button on the remote. You can basically command anything to the AI model and it will give you the resulting background that can be either used for the Fire TV device or have the option to save it in Amazon Photos.

What's your reaction?
