Ajay Devgn's Maidaan FINALLY Gets A Release Date, To Hit Theatres On Eid 2024; Deets

Ajay Devgn’s film Maidaan has been in production for a long time. The movie is centered around football coach Syed Abdul Rahim, whose guidance led the Indian football team to victory in the Asian Games of 1951 and 1962. The team included notable players like Chunni Goswami, PK Banerjee, Balaram, Franco and Arun Ghosh. Ajay Devgn portrays the role of Syed Abdul Rahim, narrating the story of this uncelebrated hero who played a pivotal role in elevating Indian football and earning accolades for the nation.

Despite having wrapped up the filming and the initial plan to release in June 2023, the Ajay Devgn film has faced multiple delays. The theatrical release is now said to be April 2024. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to X to share the news. He wrote, “AJAY DEVGN: ‘MAIDAAN’ TO ARRIVE THIS EID… #Maidaan – starring #AjayDevgn – gets a new release date: April 2024 #Eid… Directed by Amit Sharma.”

Talking about the film, producer Boney Kapoor had earlier said, “I was amazed that not many are aware of someone as significant as Syed Abdul Rahim. He’s an unsung hero whose achievements must be saluted. His team had heroes like Chunni Goswami, PK Banerjee, Balaram, Franco and Arun Ghosh. It takes someone like Ajay Devgn to play Syed Abdul Rahim. With him on board, I can just hope that our film inspires youngsters to play football, and India soon to bring the World Cup home.”

Meanwhile, on Friday, Ajay took to his Instagram account and and revealed the title of his next with R Madhavan and Jyotika. He also shared a chilling poster featuring the release date. Ajay revealed that the film will be titled Shaitaan, hinting that it will feature supernatural thriller elements.
