Jacob Elordi Says He Never Wanted To Make 'Ridiculous' Kissing Booth Movies
“I didn’t want to make those movies before I made those movies. Those movies are ridiculous. They’re not universal," Jacob Elordi said.

Australian actor Jacob Elordi needs no introduction. Known for his impeccable acting chops and more for his good looks, Jacob has garnered quite a fanbase. And his breakthrough performance in the popular film series — The Kissing Booth takes all the credit. The 2018 romantic comedy-drama, also starring Joey King was a hit among teens, taking Jacob to stardom. Playing the role of Noah Flynn, he gave a fresh spin to the quintessential bad-boy character. However, in a recent interaction and photoshoot with GQ’s Men of the Year issue, Jacob surprised the masses revealing that he found The Kissing Booth trilogy to be “ridiculous".

“I didn’t want to make those movies before I made those movies. Those movies are ridiculous. They’re not universal. They’re an escape," said Jacob Elordi in the interview. “That one’s a trap as well. Because it can become 15 for them, none for you. You have no original ideas and you’re dead inside. So it’s a fine dance. My ‘one for them,’ I’ve done it," the actor added.

The Kissing Booth is adapted from the novel of the same name, written by Beth Reekles. Jacob Elordi aka Noah Flynn played the role of a football star with a bad-boy personality type. The romance between Noah and Joey King’s Elle Evans turned out to be the main highlight of the film. Joel Courtney who essayed the character of Lee Flynn — Noah’s younger brother, was portrayed as Elle’s best friend.

Although The Kissing Booth made Jacob Elordi an overnight sensation, he remains dissatisfied with his role. Earlier, at GQ’s cover magazine Hype issue, the handsome hunk revealed that he came at loggerheads with The Kissing Booth makers for certain creative decisions in the film. Although Jacob pointed out that in the Beth Reekles novel Noah smokes cigarettes, the makers would not allow it to be shown on-screen. “I remember going to war for it. This guy smokes nicotine. It says here on page four," he added.

After The Kissing Booth, Jacob Elordi starred in the 2018 HBO production Euphoria, where he was showered the same amount of love from his admirers. His last two films released this year made him “happy" as he was able to do something out-of-the-box, cites GQ magazine. He breathed life into the character of legendary singer Elvis Presley in the film Priscilla and slipped into the shoes of a mysterious posh aristocrat in the thriller-drama Saltburn.
