MPPSC State Eligibility Test 2022: Board Holds Results for 548 Slots
The MPPSC recently completed the process of declaring results for 34 subjects in the State Eligibility Test 2022 announcing over 4,072 candidates as qualified

The Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) did not publish results for 548 slots in State Eligibility Test – 2022, holding back candidates under the two-list formula. This action deprived candidates of the opportunity to apply for the Assistant Professor – 2022 exam. The commission recently completed the process of declaring results for 34 subjects, announcing over 4,072 candidates as qualified against 3,675 vacancies in the main list, accounting for 87 per cent of available spots.

However, the commission did not release results for the other 548 slots. It is to be noted that the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission calculates slots on the basis of candidates applying for State Eligibility Test examinations and those qualifying for them. Following this, the commission notifies candidates that they are eligible to appear in the Assistant professor examination against those available slots, based on the cut-off marks.

In addition to that, the candidates aspiring for Assistant Professor need to mandatorily pass either the National Eligibility Test or the State Eligibility Test for their respective subjects in accordance with the guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC).

Yet, holding back the results for those slots cost many candidates a golden opportunity, since the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission advertised 2,053 posts in those 34 subjects after a gap of five years. In a similar vein, the State Eligibility Test is being held after a five-year hiatus.

While speaking to Times Of India, Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission OSD R Pancbhai said, “The commission asked the higher education department on how to declare State Eligibility Test results. The department advised us to follow the General Administration guidelines issued last year. And, the commission followed it.”

The GAD came up with a formula on September 29 last year wherein a main list of shortlisted candidates against 87 per cent positions is announced and for the remaining 13 per cent posts two lists are prepared, one each for the Other Backward Class category and Unreserved. However, this 13 per cent provisional list shortlisted candidate result is not been declared and will be declared after the resolution of the 27 per cent Other Backward Class (OBC) reservation issue by the court.

Furthermore, the commission is slated to conduct a written examination for ten subjects of Assistant Professor-2022 on January 28, but only candidates who have passed either the National Eligibility Test or State Eligibility Test or have a PhD were permitted to take part.

The final result for the MPPSC State Services Exam 2019 has been announced by the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission. Candidates can check and download the selection list which contains the name, roll number, allotted seat, and category of qualified candidates.
