Farmers' Protest: Delhi Police Issue New Traffic Advisory; Check Alternative Routes
Farmers' Protest: Authorities on Wednesday got more concrete poured between the concrete slabs at the Tikri Border to make the border stronger for the protest's second day

As the farmers’ ‘Delhi Chalo’ protest continues to move towards the national capital on Wednesday, traffic restrictions also continue to remain in place in Delhi-NCR areas.

Security has also been further beefed at many of the locations in Delhi and its connecting borders. Rapid Action Force personnel along with police teams and Riot Control Vehicle are deployed at the Singhu border to ensure maintenance of law and order situation.

Massive traffic snarls were also seen at the Ghazipur border, where security was further tightened on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, multi-layer barricades, concrete blocks, pickets, iron nails and walls of containers have been placed at Tikri, Singhu and Ghazipur borders. During the early hours of Wednesday, authorities got more concrete poured between the concrete slabs at the Tikri Border to make the arrangements stronger for day-2.

The police have also sealed rural roads bordering Haryana to stop the protestors from entering Delhi.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY & ALTERNATE ROUTES

Amid heavy security checks and barricading at the entry and exit points of several linking areas in Delhi borders, massive queues of vehicles lined up one after the other across Delhi on Tuesday.

Delhi Police on Tuesday issued a fresh traffic advisory to ensure prevention of any inconvenience to the commuters and to prevent any untoward incident.

The Delhi Traffic Police on Wednesday issued a traffic alert and said that in view of the “deployment of picket/checking on DND Flyway, traffic is heavy on both the carriageways of the DND Flyway.”

“Commuters from Noida to Delhi and vice-versa are advised to take alternative routes like Chilla Border route,” the alert added.

DIVERSIONS AROUND TIKRI, JHARODA & DHANSA BORDER

  • Commuters going towards Bahadurgarh, Rohtak, Jhajjar, Gurugram etc., are advised to use Najafgarh-Nangloi Road from Nangloi Chowk, Najafgarh-Daurala Road from Najafgarh and Najafgarh-Chhawla Road to enter Haryana.

COMMUTERS MOVING TOWARDS BAHADURGARH, ROHTAK, JHAJJAR, GURUGRAM

For those intending to move towards Bahadurgarh, Rohtak, Jhajjar and Gurugram via Rohtak road, Najafgarh-Jharoda road can use these routes:

  • From Nangloi Chowk to Nangloi-Najafgarh Raod to Phirni road to Delhi Gate Stand to Chhawla Stand to Dhansa stand to Najafgarh-Dhansa road to Jaffarpur Kalan village to Rawta Mor to Dauralla Road-Ujwa Village to Rawta village to Daurala Border.

IndiGo Airlines issued advisory to its flyers and said, “#6ETravelAdvisory: Due to the ongoing farmer protest, expect extended travel times to #Delhi airport. Please plan extra time accordingly.”

Vistara airlines also issued an advisory asking the travellers to allow more time for their journey to the airport in anticipation of traffic jams due to the farmers’s protest.
