Rajinikanth-starrer Lal Salaam To Stream On This OTT Platform

Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth are set to star in Lal Salaam, directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth released grandly on February 9 today. The sports drama follows two aspiring cricketers from diverse religious backgrounds who find themselves entangled in the escalating communal tensions in their area. Additionally, the film features Superstar Rajinikanth in an extended cameo as Moideen Bhai.

While not officially confirmed, reports suggest that Netflix has acquired the digital rights to the film and it will be available for streaming on the OTT platform after its theatrical release. The movie will be available for streaming on OTT platforms 60 days after its theatrical release. Additionally, the satellite rights for the film have been acquired by the renowned television network Sun Network’s Gemini channel. It appears that Sun TV has secured the rights for the Tamil version of the movie.

The sports drama’s trailer explores themes of communal harmony and cricket, with Rajinikanth portraying Moideen Bhai, a figure striving to foster peace among people of diverse faiths in the area. Conversely, Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth’s characters, impacted by communal violence, face obstacles in pursuing their cricket aspirations. Overall, the trailer suggests an exploration of sensitive topics such as religious division, while advocating for peace among communities.

Early reviews suggest that Lal Salaam has received a positive response from movie enthusiasts, with many expressing their love for the film. Amidst this, Rajinikanth conveyed his best wishes to Aishwarya, affectionately addressing her as “mother.” In a heartfelt online post, the Jailer actor expressed his hopes for his daughter’s film to achieve “huge success.”

Rajinikanth took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a photo of himself with Aishwarya at a university location. The superstar, seated in a wheelchair, showcased his trademark style by crossing his legs. He sported a green shirt, white trousers, sunglasses and a cap, with headphones on. Flashing a smile, he affectionately cupped his daughter’s face while she stood behind him, dressed in a grey outfit with sunglasses, also smiling brightly.

Rajinikanth expressed his affection for his beloved mother Aishwarya by stating, “My anbu salaam to my beloved mother Aishwarya. I pray to the almighty that your movie Lal Salaam will be a huge success.”

Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s directorial features an ensemble cast led by Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth, with supporting roles filled by Vignesh, Livingston, Senthil, Dhanya Balakrishna, Jeevitha, KS Ravikumar and Thambi Ramaiah. Additionally, the film includes an extended cameo by Superstar Rajinikanth and a pivotal role played by legendary cricketer and former Indian cricket team captain Kapil Dev.
