UPSC CSE: Meet IAS Divya Tanwar Who Achieved AIR 105 Without Coaching

When Divya lost her father in 2011, she was just 8 or 9 years old. Following the death of her father, her financial situation started deteriorating, and her mother started working as a labourer on farms and sewing clothes to support her three children. Undeterred by these situations, Divya completed her graduation with a bachelor’s degree in science and started preparing for her childhood dream of cracking the UPSC CSE and becoming an IAS officer. She started studying for it right away with unwavering effort, unyielding determination, and the spirit to conquer adversities.

Despite not being able to afford coaching, IAS Divya worked hard and utilised several internet resources, including test series. Her hard work paid off and in her first attempt in 2021, she cracked the toughest exam and achieved an All India Rank (AIR) of 438. It is worth noting that she became the youngest IPS of India at the age of 21. Later, she retook the UPSC CSE in 2022 at the age of 22 and scored AIR 105. Eventually, through her sheer persistence and steadfast dedication, she became an IAS through self-study.
